HOW TO GET A LIBRARY CARD
|
Dover
children ages 5 through grade 6 may apply for and be issued their own library card in the
Childrens Room. The application must be signed by the childs parent or
guardian who assumes responsibility for the childs borrowing.
Non-resident cards are given to children whose parents have purchased a
family card. Non-resident children attending public schools in Dover are issued a free library card at school. Non-resident children attending a private school in Dover may purchase a student card for $80 per year. You are responsible for all items checked out on your library card; notify the Library immediately if your card is lost or stolen. There is a $2.00 replacement fee for lost cards. |

Fiction Non-Fiction: 2 books on 1 subject Encyclopedias: 2 at a time Holiday items: limited in month preceding holiday Audio-books Music CDs Language Media DVDs: 5 at a time Magazines (the newest issues may be borrowed) Museum Passes (borrowed on a daily basis--with adult card only) Orion StarBlast Telescope (with adult card only)
All items, except DVDs, have a 3-week loan period. |
RENEWING MATERIALS

Books,
magazines, videos and audiocassettes that are not overdue may be renewed for one additional 3-week
loan period if they have not been reserved by another patron. You may
renew your items in person, by phone or on-line! DVDs, E ncyclopedias, holiday books and holiday CDs may not be renewed. |
RETURNING BORROWED MATERIALS

Please
return materials to the Circulation Desk when the Library is open. When the Library is
closed, patrons may use a book drop. CDs should not be left in the book drop where they can be damaged.

OVERDUE MATERIALS
|
The Library
does not charge for days that we are closed. Patrons also
have one grace day.
A fine of 25 cents per item per day is assessed on
overdue materials up to a maximum fine of $10.00 per item. We will send a bill approximately 5 weeks after the items due date if it has not been returned. You will be charged a $10.00 fine and a $1.00 processing fee per item. If any item is not returned after billing, you will be charged the replacement cost of that item.
There is a $5.00 fine for Museum passes not returned on time. |
