Our
collection is located on the upper level and includes books on childrens
literature as well as books about special needs and situations such as death,
hospitalization, adoption, divorce, etc. Other topics include new babies, handicaps and disabilities, traveling with children, stepfamilies and sex education. |

On the lower level of the Children’s Room is a red bookcase holding a variety of resources for parents, including subscriptions to magazines, the Pre-school Education in Dover booklets, and Resources for Adoptive Families. |
| Pre-school Education Booklets |

Every year the Children’s Room updates its booklet “Pre-school Education in Dover” with full descriptions of many Dover nursery schools and kindergartens. This booklet, published by the Children’s Room since 1977, is prefaced with guidelines for choosing a pre-school. It also includes a listing of additional pre-schools and day care services located outside of Dover and information from UNH Child Care Resource and Referral. Copies of the booklet are available for borrowing. Also, the booklet may be accessed on the Children's Room website for viewing &/or downloading (see the "Parents' Place" section or click here). |

The Dover Public Library
Children's Room provides free and/or reduced rate passes to six exciting
regional museums. Patrons may reserve these passes ahead of time by
calling or stopping by the children's room. Click here for more information. |
| Display Walls |

Artwork from
Dover pre-schools, child care centers and elementary schools is displayed on
the Children’s Art Wall located in the hallway near the elevator. Parents
may want to check out their children's art or get ideas for art projects
they can do with their children at home. |

Our community information board, located just inside the Children’s Room, is another place to check for announcements of area activities for children and families. |
| Library Computers |

Adults accompanied by children are invited to use the internet computers in the Children's Room. Search the web, type a paper, format a resume, etc., while the children play or read. |
