The Ladybug Picture Book Award is designed to promote early literacy and honor the best in recent children's picture books. A committee of children's librarians from around New Hampshire selects 10 picture book titles early in the year. Then, during Children's Book Week in November, New Hampshire children from preschoolers to those in third grade vote to select the award winner. The award is a project of the Center for the Book at the New Hampshire State Library.

Hibernation Station by Michelle Meadows		Rhyming text and pictures introduce the reader to a variety of animals as they try to snuggle in to sleep.
In the Wild by David Elliott		A woodcut-illustrated collection of poems that celebrates wild animals.
Interrupting Chicken by *David Ezra Stein*		Little Red Chicken wants Papa to read her a bedtime story, but interrupts him almost as soon as he begins each tale.
Memoirs of a Goldfish by Devin Scillian		A goldfish gives a personal account of his experiences while swimming around his bowl as it slowly fills with fish and other accessories, only to realize when he is relocated for a cleaning how much he misses them.
One by *Kathryn Otoshi*		A number/color book reminding us that it just takes one to make everyone count. (A story about bullying and how one can make a difference).
Rubia and the Three Osos by *Susan Middleton*		Retells the story of Goldilocks and the three bears in rhyming text interspersed with Spanish words, which are defined in a glossary.
The Cow Loves Cookies by Karma Wilson		While all the other animals on the farm enjoy eating their regular food, the cow chooses to eat the one thing that she loves best.
Ugly Pie by *Lisa Wheeler*		Bear bakes an ugly pie with various ingredients donated by his neighbors and invites everyone over for a taste.
